‘Art Macao’ is a five month mega international arts and cultural event that features the ‘Art Macao: International Art Exhibition’ showcasing visual arts, art installations, musical and theatrical performances and International youth dance, music and drama festivals. It is going to be an unforgettable artistic summer full of emotions!
We have compiled a list of the most awaited art events in the exhibition for you! Here are the masterpieces to look forward to:
- Grace Kelly – From Hollywood to Monaco – Artists’ Tributes:
Do you know the story of the mega beautiful star: Grace Kelly (1929-1982)? Explore the art created for her by Andy Warhol and his pop art image, Alfred Hitchcock and his films starring the beauty and the ‘Grace Kelly Look’ by photographers, jewelers, sculptors and fashion houses. It is co-organized by the Galaxy Entertainment Group Foundation and Grimaldi Forum of Monaco. The exhibits include photographs and moving images of her, the Oscar award, wedding gown and the eponymous Kelly bag, designer jewellery – on loan from the Prince’s Palace of Monaco and a rare portrait by Andy Warhol.

- Art Macao : International Art Exhibition:
This is the main venue that will showcase artworks selected by hotels and integrated resorts to seek and reveal the charm of contemporary visual arts in a variety of forms including paintings, ceramic, sculptures, interactive installations and multimedia.

City of Dreams owns an impressive art collection of contemporary masters. They demonstrate how contemporary art has liberated itself from classical forms. There are pieces from renowned masters from each continent that explore art in all its forms.

- International Youth Drama Festival 2019 ‘Integration into the Greater Bay Area, the Charm of Creative Art’:
Drama will be used for the first time as a medium of exchange by inviting youth drama troupes from cities throughout the Greater Bay Area, Asia and Europe to present indoor and outdoor performances with Macao’s drama troupes. These will promote exchanges among youths from different origins and provide them with opportunities to learn and show their artistic abilities and establish a platform for friendship.
Witness the much needed gathering of dance with cultural integration!

- Chen Zhifo Painting Exhibition:
Chen Zhifo (1896-1962) was a Chinese artist known for his meticulous styled flower-and-bird paintings. He was also an art educator and a pioneer of the Chinese arts and crafts of the 20th century. His works, featuring fine and careful depictions are elegant and bright, sweet toned and they give off a graceful and lofty charm. He used creative patterns with a decorative flair and he generated new developments to the genre. The main aim is to strengthen the cooperation and exchange in the field of culture and museums between the Macao special Administrative Region and Nanjing, in Jiangsu Province, the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Nanjing Museum.

- Alban Gerhardt and Macao Orchestra:
Music contemplates society and inspires people in a unique, abstract language with strong emotional impact. In this 2019-2020 season opening concert, the Macao Orchestra and Alban Gerhardt, the internationally acclaimed cellist, Dmitry Shostakovich’s ‘Cello Concerto No. 1, Op. 107’, a work that uses the clash between cello and ensemble as a metaphor for the struggle of individual vs. society. ‘Carnival Overture’, Antonin Dvork’s fiery and enthusiastic work which celebrates the eternal flame of life and Tchaikovsky’s ‘Symphony No. 5’ demonstrating the composer’s complete confrontation with fate will also be performed.
