5 Places In Macao That You Must Visit With Your Kids

Just an hour ferry ride from Hong Kong, Macau while you are busy shopping in duty free shops, you can also check out these places with your kids.
- DreamWorks Experience
Yes, you heard it right. If you have been a fan of animated movies, the name DreamWorks will not sound alien! Well, at the DreamWorks Experience in Macau, you actually get to meet, greet and take photos with the characters you have loved. This is a perfect experience for all young kids. You would be called an awesome parent if you can also arrange a breakfast with one of these characters at the Coral Strip Resort! Popular characters include Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar characters and the ones from the movie How to Train Your Dragon! The characters perform everyday between 12 noon and 3 PM and again between 5 PM and 7 PM at an interval of every 15 minutes. Admission to the DreamWorks Experience is free for all and this could at least be a great photo opportunity.
An absolute favorite among young tourists is to purchase a Shrekfast. It’s the mandatory combination of Shrek and a thoroughly spread breakfast! At the Shrekfast, there singing, dancing and even dumplings that are shaped like the face of Kung Fu Panda! The gala can be experienced at Sheraton Macau.
- The House of Dancing Waters
Located at the City of Dreams, it’s a water based fun activity. The show is run for a period of 90 minutes and will feature more than 80 circus artists, gymnasts, divers, actors, motorcyclists, and dancers perform entertaining moves on the floor. The highlight of the event is that the stage holds about 3.7 million gallons of water with sprouts of fountains. From deep diving to a completely dry floor, it’s an awesome experience. The best thing is that kids can be a part of it, though the City of Dreams is actually a Casino.
Close to the House of Dancing Water and inside the City of Dreams is also the specially designed Kid’s City. Open between 10.30 AM and 9.30 PM, it’s a place where kids can create art, read books, use slides, jump on bouncy castles, engage in arcade gaming and snuggle through tunnels!
- The Venetian Macao
One of the best reasons to visit the Venetian in Macau is the Qube, especially if you are with kids. It’s an interactive play zone that integrates 6 meter high slides, climbing structures with net, pool tables, video games and more. Kids will actually go crazy here! There’s also a special zone for kids less than five years of age! Spread across 9000 sq ft, the Qube is something that kids wouldn’t ant coming out of! It will be advisable that you check out the passes that allow you different periods of stay and discounts at the Qube.
- Hac Sa Beach
Another top spot to be around with your kids is the Hac Sa Beach in the Coloane Islands. The beach hosts a playground, basketball courts, soccer courts, tennis courts and even a swimming pool. The pool area in fact has separate wading and swimming area, making it completely safe for all skill levels. When your kids get hungry, the Fernando’s Restaurant will be a special recommendation!
- Taipa Grande Nature Park
Not too far from the city center, the Taipa Grande Nature Park, integrates a 20 meter long grass slide. This is absolute fun if your kid loves outdoor sports. The experience is like tobogganing but without freezing snowfall! You can spend several hours here!
Macau might not feature high on your list on the places to visit with your kids, but when you give it a serious thought, there’s so much to experience. The city in fact has the second highest life expectancy rate in the whole world! So, why not!
